Spare the Rod and Spoil the Horse

Apparently the Horse Racing Authority has said that correct use of the whip does not cause a horse pain.

What an excellent argument for the return of corporal punishment in schools!

Oh, I don't know, Bill. When I was at school, the rod was perfectly acceptable, but a lot of very good teachers became too smack happy!

However, kid's punishments do seem a soft option these days - excluded from school? I would have only dreamt of such a thing!

Jenny: 6 of the best for you! It's kids', not kid's.

"It's kids', not kid's."

Maybe Jenny was deliberately implying that a good trade-off would be to have one designated "Whipping Boy" -- or "girl" -- in each class, to take the punishment for all?

No, huh?
