Saw this bit of doggerel on a tombstone yesterday in Old Sodbury church:
Dearest wife do not lament,
Dry up those tears and be content,
'Twas God alone whom did us join,
And parted us at His own time.
It was obviously meant to be spoken in the local Gloucestershire dialect...
