Pointless Screws

We have some IKEA LED lights on which the power supply has failed - it's one of those KMV plugs.

It has a screw in the end, which one would assume enables you to open it, but no. No matter how much you pull and lever it, there's no way it will come apart - it's hermetically sealed, in which case, what's the purpose of the screw?

Any thoughts?

Assembly line production on the very cheap. One basic design with numerous variations.
Vietnam or PRC?

To hold internal components in place during manufacture/sealing?
Something connected with the earthing of the plug?
Free screw as in the extra button you sometimes get on a shirt hem! ;)
