I would relish this scenario to play out at PMQs:
Mr Speaker; "Member for xxxxx."
Member for xxxxx; "Would the PM agree with me that Trump is an arsehole?"
PM; "The member for xxxxx may think that, but I couldn't possibly comment."
This is one of the most delightfully Machiavellian lines ever uttered in British political drama. If Starmer deployed it in response to such a question, it would be a moment for the ages. Subtle enough to avoid outright scandal but devastatingly clear in implication – the press would be scrambling to analyse the layers of meaning while social media exploded. A beautifully British way of saying everything while saying nothing.
