Derelict Dilemma

For the past couple of months or so I've been watching the clearance and gradual demolition of a house near us on the A46. It was inhabited by an inveterate hoarder who died last year.

The grounds were filled to the brim with old cars, machinery and other detritus, not to mention a copse that had grown between the rubbish over the years, virtually hiding the house from sight. The copse has since been felled. Note the two petrol pumps in the foreground of the lower photo.

How anyone lived in it is incomprehensible. Sad, really.

Question: do green vegans have an ethical dilemma when it comes to choosing between leather or plastic shoes?

The Dutch have been at the forefront of veganism and the green movement since the middle ages with wooden clogs...
