Bought a watermelon from Tesco the other day and was surprised to discover, on cutting it open, that it was yellow inside, instead of pink/red.
Initially I thought I'd bought a an unripe one but, on tasting it, it seemed quite normal and sweet.
Never heard of yellow watermelons, but apparently they're the original ones and the red ones were the result of cross-breeding.
