Quick Fix

You could be justified in believing that the government of the last 12 years has strategically made things worse in all areas - immigration, productivity, the economy, energy, the NHS, education - hoping the public would, as a last resort, be accepting of any solution as a quick fix to the diabolical situation while blaming the party that hasn't been in government or the very people coming up with long term solutions.

That quick fix, however, would be a neoliberal solution that washes the government's hands of vast swathes of public service and cost while enriching their pals.

You may think that. I could not possibly comment.

Funny if it was not that serious. Surprisingly still meet people who still think all is fine. I had to close down my woodpellets supply business (for biomass fuel and animal bedding) as I can’t purchase the product anymore for a realistic price and delivery time.

That so-called quick fix has been underway for decades: out-sourcing the manufacturing base to (mostly) China; importing workers instead of training the next generation; out-sourcing work previously done by local and central government to companies like the behemoth Capita; Private Finance Initiative impoverishing the NHS allowing a way in for Private Health companies; Selling off gas, electricity, water, railways; Academy Trusts doing nothing to improve educational standards.

I'm sure I missed something. Feel free to fill in the blanks.
