I bought this Stone Pine about 6 or 7 years ago as a 6 inch seedling, and it has thrived in a stunning manner.
It has three trunks. It's one of those classic Italian pine trees, as in the image below.
I never thought for a minute that it would do so well in our clay soil, but trees seem to love the environment in our garden. Even the Monkey Puzzle tree that had underperformed in a pot for many years has sprung into action on being planted in our soil.
Willows particularly like our soil, as do fruit trees of any persuasion.
