That's another full tipper truck of logs put into the log shed.
Altogether, we now have £800 worth of logs in the log shed (2 full tipper trucks), comprising 5 and a half, floor to rafters walls that extend 4 feet out from the back. That is far more than we'll use in one winter, but the price is rising all the time.
We've had the fire on twice thus far, not so much because of the cold, but to drive off the damp air. Next week it will be on for the cold.
Hopefully, by next year we'll be able to put the underfloor heating on again, if electricity prices drop to pre-crisis levels. If we have a particularly sunny winter, I'll be able to take advantage of the solar PV in order to put the air-source heat pump on during the day. The solar thermal will augment hot water on sunny days too.
