Had a go at one of the doors of the GT6 on Friday.
The original green paint stuck to the metal like nuclear glue.
Just over an hour of solid wire wheeling to do the outside and around the skin folds.
Still needs a bit of attention to some dents around the door handle, which will require tapping out with a hammer and dolly.
In surprisingly good condition for 50 years old, and it's the original skin - just a bit of light surface rust, which was treated with Jenolite prior to smoothing with filler and priming.
The other door, the rear valance and the bonnet left to do. I'm still undecided on stripping the interior paint given it will, for the most part, be hidden by trim. I may give the sandblaster one more try on it, but outside of the garage. It seems to blast out either too much sand or nothing.
