Someone sent me this today. It's quite intriguing. See if you can figure out how it works.

I took me about 2 minutes.

  5. It's taken me longer than your two already and I still haven't got it. I tried cheating by doing a false subtraction but it didn't fall for it. Don't tell me how it works yet - I want to spend more time on it.

    I've seen this before (in a different form) and know how it works. Or rather, eventually when it was evident that I was about to start causing a disturbance in the office with my high pitched exclamations, some kind soul explained it to me....

  14. I suppose that there are only so many numbers that the subtraction works for... and they stick the same gift on all of these.
    I really am rubbish a maths, btw!
